Anderson Mall Announces Reopening With Social Distancing and Cleaning Practices
Anderson Mall to reopen on April 24 to honor first responders and healthcare workers
ANDERSON, SC (April 23, 2020) – Anderson Mall plans to reopen on Friday, April 24 with reduced hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
On Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., first responders and healthcare workers will receive a complimentary to-go lunch at the Food Court as a special thank you from Anderson Mall. This lunch is one small way that Anderson Mall can recognize and celebrate the truly heroic actions of these community members.
The reopening on April 24 also will feature a live artist painting a memorial in honor of the first responders who have worked tirelessly to serve the Anderson community.
Anderson Mall will include an interactive #PostYourLove art display near the Food Court as a way for guests to share bright moments during a difficult time. Guests are encouraged to add to the art display by writing down positive affirmations on Post-It notes. The #PostYourLove display serves as a way to unite the Anderson community and offer a moment of optimism.
While the Center will be reopened on April 24, planned reopening dates for individual tenants may vary. Guests are encouraged to call ahead and to follow along on Instagram (@ShopAnderson), as well as on Facebook (@AndersonMallSC) for the most up-to-date information about Anderson Mall and its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Anderson Mall remains focused on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. In the continued need to address COVID-19, the Center has proactively implemented additions to the Code of Conduct, effective immediately and until further notice.
These additions include the following guidelines for guests:
The Code of Conduct is posted at the Center and available online.
Anderson Mall’s already rigorous disinfectant and cleaning practices will also continue many times per day, including periodically disinfecting areas most susceptible to the spread of germs. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer dispensers are located in highly-trafficked areas and walkways for public use.
While Anderson Mall transitions into reopening during this unprecedented time, more than ever, the Center is embracing its role as a community partner by finding unique ways to transform its space for social good.
Specifically, Anderson Mall is holding regular blood drives at the property. The blood drives will be located at the Blood Connection near the Main Entrance on weekdays from 1:30 to 5 p.m. and on weekends from noon to 5 p.m.
Additionally, through a partnership with the United Way of Anderson County, Anderson Mall is serving as a drop-off location for food and hygiene products. Guests may drop off nonperishable food and hygiene items near the front entrance, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. All donations will be distributed equally to 10 local agencies who provide frontline assistance in the Anderson area.
“We are inspired by the resilience of our community and look forward to safely welcoming back our guests starting on April 24,” said Chunsta Miller, General Manager at Anderson Mall. “Most importantly, our call to serve transcends shopping and dining, and speaks to the heart of our mission as a true partner in Anderson. We will continue to work with local, state and federal agencies to do all we can in order to contribute to the containment, treatment and prevention of COVID-19, while finding safe and meaningful ways to aid the Anderson community.”
